The Orthopaedic and Trauma Foundation Nepal (OTFN) is a registered nongovernmental organization working in Janakpurdham, Nepal since 1993. The foundation is dedicated to reducing deformity and disability by improving the care of musculoskeletal injuries and providing training to the health personnel in Nepal.
In the last 21 years, OTFN has focused on providing primary orthopaedic & trauma care to the poor and needy patients, providing primary care training to the local health personnel, creating public awareness for prevention of common disabling orthopaedic & traumatic conditions and raising local support and external help to achieve the goals. This organization has been involved in conducting several orthopaedic treatment camps, training workshops and rehabilitation works. The OTFN is in process of establishing a non-for-profit trauma hospital with suitable facility for proper trauma care, rehabilitation and training.
Orthopaedic & Trauma Foundation, Nepal has signed MoU with Ministry of Health Nepal on behalf of AO Alliance Foundation, Switzerland to improve fracture care in Nepal through local capacity build up.
The OFTN is a developmental non‐profit organization dedicated to improving trauma care for poor, needy and deprived patients in Nepal. We are committed to appropriate trauma care to all patients.
The OTFN could not do everything to everyone. Given that we wanted to create as much impact as possible in our fields of service, we had to be selective with the “target patients” who are needy.

An Elected Body from the general members of this NGO governs this organization and its activities for a fixed term of 2 years and the Orthopaedic Hospital has a separate Development Board for conducting regular activities. There is also inputs from the Govt. and Non-Govt. bodies for proper functioning of these governing bodies and its funds/resources are constantly monitored by local Administrator and Social Welfare Council, Nepal.
